BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Liebzeit York is a private violin instructor who is local to the Lakewood and Long Beach areas. Amanda completed her teaching degree (B.M. Music Education) and California teaching credential from Biola University, allowing her to teach in the public school system. Amanda has been teaching privately since she was a high school student, and is known for her summer studios in Long Beach, California.
Amanda was born and raised in Long Beach, California, and has lived there for the majority of her life. Amanda grew up participating in Long Beach Unified's highly esteemed music programs, while also participating in the top orchestras at her high school. Amanda also participated in the All District Orchestras for the city of Long Beach as a middle and high school student. She attended Poly High School as a teenager, and was led under the direction of Andy Osman.
Amanda is an accomplished private teacher in the Long Beach area, teaching many students from ages five to fifteen.
Some of Amanda's greatest accomplishments have been playing large orchestral works in various different ensembles. In 2016, Amanda played a solo in a Concerto Concert along with the Long Beach Poly Chamber Orchestra. Later that same year, Amanda also made her conducting debut, where she conducted an ensemble of high school students. Shortly after, Amanda conducted a middle school string orchestra in La Mirada. She also has played in ensembles for large operatic productions, such as Kurt Weil's "Street Scene", and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro".
Amanda currently teaches elementary music full time for Garden Grove Unified School District. Her heart for music allows her performing ensembles and students to continue to thrive and succeed throughout the year.
